The 7 Best Battles from Desiree’s Season of The Bachelorette

Yes, The Bachelorette is about Desiree’s search for love. It’s about marriage, and fairytales, and helicopter dates and blah blah blah. Give us the drama! Bachelor vs. Bachelor! Bachelorette vs. Her Family! EVERYTHING VS. EVERYTHING!

Even in a house where most of the guys seem to get along pretty well (considering they're all dating the same woman), there’s been no shortage of conflict. Here are some of our favorite clashes from Season 9 of The Bachelorette.

7. Brian vs. His Girlfriend

After this, everyone was pretty skeptical that Brian was actually looking for love, given that HE SLEPT WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND TWO NIGHTS BEFORE HE FLEW TO LOS ANGELES TO START FILMING THE BACHELORETTE. Fun fact: Brian and his girlfriend reference another previous battle in this clip, known as Rocks vs. Brian’s Face.

6. Zak W. vs. His Pants

The never-shy Zak, who climbed out of the limo on the first night sans shirt, is not the kind of guy who can be shackled by petty things like clothing. Or social norms.

Leo Tolstoy famously wrote “All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” Desiree’s family is unhappy in that way where you haven’t spoken to your brother since he ruined your chance at everlasting love on a reality TV show, which, yeah, that's probably fairly unique.

4. James vs. Pretty Much Everybody

All the remaining guys question why James is really on the show after a supposedly secret conversation. Then the F-bombs start flying, the tears start falling and we grab some popcorn.

3. Mikey T. vs. His Insecurities (and Bad Breath)

The normally confident Mikey boldly exposes his internal struggle to Desiree, which wins him points. But after his gaffe with the mint, however, he gives those points right back.

2. James vs. Soccer

James allegedly hoped to spin his time on the show into a stint on The Bachelor, but one thing’s for certain: He will not be spinning this performance into a tryout for the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team.

1. Michael G. vs. Ben

Ben said many times that he wasn't there to make friends, and if that's the truth -- mission accomplished! Michael and Ben's battle royale ended after a brutally awkward 2-on-1 date where Michael came at Ben so hard during dinner that he made Desiree really uncomfortable. If you’re not caught up, here’s how that night ended:
